Edward J. Bielarski, known as Mr. Ed to his friends passed away while at Franklin Square Hospital on October 22, 2017 at the age of 85.  He had been active up until July of this year when he fell ill with heart failure.

Mr. Ed was born on March 7, 1932 to two polish immigrants, Jacob and Nora Bielarski.  He was one of nine children and was the last surviving boy.  He worked with his brothers mining, screening and hauling coal when he was in his teens.  He was one sturdy polska.

After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, Mr. Ed came home to marry Mary Eve Will from Audubon, New Jersey (who preceded him in death in 1998).  They had one son, Edward J. Bielarski Jr (Little Ed).  Mr. Ed worked for the Camden Port Authority, the Dundalk Marine Authority, Baltimore Gas and Electric and worked with his son running Eddie Bee’s Market in Wilson Point and the Harewood Food Mart in Harewood.

Mr. Ed will be remembered as the unofficial Mayor of Wilson Point where he cruised the streets talking with friends, neighbors and anyone who responded to his greeting of “yoo-hoo”.  He was a life-time member of the Wilson Point Men’s Club.

Mr. Ed was a devoted father to his only son Little Ed.  Mr. Ed visited him in Pennsylvania, working the tractor to pave roads around the property to taking a train down to Florida where he helped fix little odds and ends around the property.

Mr. Ed is survived by his son, daughter-in-law Melinda, grandsons David (Columbia, Maryland) and Jonathon (Easton, Pennsylania), great-grandchildren Bennett and Marlow and surviving sister Irene (Cherry Hill, Pennsylvania).  He has numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends and adoptive family members.

At the end of his viewing from 11 to 1 on Friday, October 27, 2017 listen closely and you can hear a “yoooo-hooo” off in the heavens as he enters ever-lasting life with his departed wife and loved ones.  You’ll be missed Mayor….
