On January 30, 2024, Bertha Evelyn Bortell passed away peacefully. Beloved wife of the late Robert Bortell; devoted mother of Cecelia Bland, Shirley Compton (Tom), Robert Bortell (Charli), Michael Bortell (Karen), Charles Bortell, and Gail Wela. Also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P. A. at 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 12:00 Pm to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
