Elisabeth Wilhelmine Beare, age 84 passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026. Born and raised in Köln Germany, Elisabeth later moved to England after her marriage to Peter Beare. In 1976, the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland.
Elisabeth worked as an office assistant and secretary handling bookkeeping and accounting for several firms around the Baltimore area. After retirement, Elisabeth enjoyed gardening, traveling, golf, skiing, playing with her grandchildren, and getting together with friends. She was an avid tennis player and won many competitions in the USTA League. A long-time active member in the Maryland Chapter Daughters of the British Empire (DBE), a non-profit organization, Elisabeth was President (1984-1986) of the Maryland Chapter and the National Corresponding Secretary (1986-1989) for the National Society Daughters of the British Empire.
Elisabeth was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Hedwig and Marlene. She is survived by her brother Friedrich Bruns and his wife Luzia. Elisabeth is survived by her two daughters, Yvonne Roe with her husband Phil, and Alexa Smith with her husband Steve. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Megan, Clayton, Ian, Dale and Glen, and many nephews and nieces.
A Private Cremation was held. A closed celebration of life ceremony was held with immediate family members.
