Ernest Henry Skidmore

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Henry Skidmore, affectionately known as "Ernie," who departed this life on August 30, 2025, in Bel Air, Maryland. Born on November 30, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ernie was a devoted husband, father, and brother, cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ernie dedicated his career to his work as a machinist, where he applied his skills and expertise, leaving a mark on the industry and earning the respect of his colleagues. His commitment to his craft reflected not only his professionalism but also his unwavering dedication to providing for his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rose "Sissy" Skidmore, who enriched his life in countless ways, and their children, Nikki Skidmore, Jared "Bunk" Skidmore, and Cameron "Cam" Rossi. The family also shared laughter and joy with their cherished pets: Alastair the cat, George the bird, and Tela the dog, who brought warmth and companionship into their home.

Ernie's legacy extends beyond his immediate family. He is survived by his sister, Charlotte Farber, and his brother, Kenneth Skidmore, both of whom held a special place in his heart.

Visitation services will be held on September 3, 2025, at Bruzdzinski Funeral Home, P.A., located at 1407 Old Eastern Ave, Essex, MD 21221, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and again from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Ernie's life will follow at the same location, beginning at 7:00 PM.

Ernest Henry Skidmore will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and the love he tirelessly gave to his family and friends. As we gather to celebrate his life, we honor the memories he created and the impact he had on those around him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
