Geraldine Josephine Wisniewski

On September 29, 2025, Geraldine Josephine Wisniewski passed away at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Alfred Wisniewski; devoted mother of Susan Hartmann and her late husband Carl, Roxanne Elmore and her husband Scott, and René Donohue and her husband Francis; cherished grandmother of Justin Hartmann and his wife Jackie, Blake Koslosky, Chad Koslosky and his wife Amanda, Alex Koslosky, Sean Donohue and his wife Cosette Schneider, and Ryan Donohue; doting great-grandmother of Nate and Cora Hartmann, and Julianna and Camden Koslosky. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family.

Geraldine began her career after high school as a switchboard operator in the early 1950’s. Around that time there was a large recruiting effort and a number of openings being offered to be trained in the field. She was trained at the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in Maryland as some may remember as Ma Bell, then later became AT&T. She worked part time as a “Girl Friday” for Baltimore Concrete and Block, Pompeii Olive Company, Glidden Durkee, Martin Marietta, and Montgomery Wards. Mom also helped with answering the phone for Dad when he started his business, Classic Art Service.

Mom had many good friends and enjoyed taking care of her family and grandchildren. Later she took a class in flower arranging offered at our local high school. As it turned out she really loved it and became skilled enough that she did arrangements for family and friends.

 A fun fact about Mom, is that in our neighborhood most Mom’s would call their children in by name for dinner. Our Mother instead would whistle and we knew wherever we were it was time to come home.

 Mom loved to entertain and have family and friends over especially around the holidays. Geraldine was always a loving Mother, devoted Grandmother and beloved wife of 70 years.

A private cremation was held.
