On May 13, 2026, Joan Elaine Hardester passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Christopher Columbus Hardester; devoted mother of Deborah Ann Coleman and her late husband David Gould, Christopher Guy Hardester and his fiancée Margaret Eshman, Douglas Keith Hardester, Linda Kosko, and Beverly Holt and her husband Terry; cherished grandmother of Richard, Christopher, Amanda, Dottie, Douglas, Stephanie, John, Billy, Jennifer, Michelle, and Julie; dear sister of William F. Kapfer. Also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren, and many wonderful neighbors of 60 years,

A private cremation was held.
