On April 19, 2026, Katherine Annette Simmons passed away. Beloved wife of James Simmons; devoted mother of Theresa Fraley; cherished grandmother of Raven Gillespie, Andrew Gillespie, Jacqueline Fraley, and Gabrielle Martin; dear sister of Leola Peltzer, the late Charlotte Hennegan, the late Lawrence Bauernshub, and the late Patricia Bauernshub. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, other loving family members, and friends.

Friends may call at the family-owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home, 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex, Maryland 21221, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Interment Parkwood Cemetery. In lieu of  flowers, contributions may be made to Kennedy Krieger School- Fairmount, 1750 E Fairmount Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21231.
