Marcella Stella Laflame

Marcella Stella Laflame, a beloved mother, sister, and devoted member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, in Baltimore, the city where her remarkable journey began on February 6, 1938. Marcella’s life was a testament to kindness, simplicity, and unwavering dedication, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Marcella embraced life with a gentle spirit and a generous heart. She was a simple but the best Mom, a great all-encompassing woman whose kindness and gentleness touched the lives of everyone around her. Her love was grounded in family and faith, and she found great joy in the outdoors, tending to her garden, solving puzzles, and watching game shows—small pleasures that reflected her warm and grounded nature.

Family holidays, especially the treasured times spent at their cabin in West Virginia, form some of the most cherished memories of Marcella’s life. These moments of togetherness, filled with laughter and love, were a reflection of the deep bonds she nurtured with her loved ones. Her pride in her family was immense, and though she faced great sorrow in the loss of her beloved husband John Laflame, to whom she was married for 61 years, and her son Darren Laflame, her enduring love for her surviving children — Paul, Brian, Michele — and treasured granddaughter Keeley Murphy was a guiding light in her life.

Marcella’s involvement in the Church was a source of great pride and fulfillment for her. She was a committed member of her parish, demonstrating her faith through quiet service and heartfelt devotion. It was at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Middle River, Maryland, that a Mass will be held to celebrate her life on June 11, 2026, at 10:30 am, providing family, friends, and community members an opportunity to honor her memory and legacy.

Her brother-in-law, Wayne Laflame, along with all those who loved her, will carry forward the spirit of a woman who lived simply but loved abundantly. Marcella’s gentle nature and steadfast kindness remain a beacon of light, a reminder of the power of gentle hearts and enduring faith.

Today, as we remember Marcella Stella Laflame, we hold close the warmth of her love, the peace she carried, and the profound impact she made as a mother, a devoted church member, and a truly wonderful human being. Her life may have ended in peace, but her spirit continues to inspire and uplift all those she touched.
