Robert (Bob) Paul Lantz passed away peacefully at home on April 18th, with the love of his life, Bettie, by his side. In January, he and his beloved wife, Bettie Louise, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary-- a true reflection of a lifetime of love, commitment, and partnership.
Bob lived his life in Essex, graduating from Kenwood High School. He dedicated his life to service, both in his country and to his family. He proudly served in the United states Air Force for 37 years, dedicating himself to his nation with unwavering patriotism. Even after retirement, he remained committed to his fellow veterans as a proud member of the American Legion.
While his service was a significant part of his life, he also had a deep love for music and was a talented drummer, often bringing rhythm and energy wherever he went. Many will remember him as a natural jokester, that could bring a smile to anyone's face.
Above all, Bob was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great grandfather. His family meant everything to him, and he took great joy in watching it grow and thrive.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie; his daughters, Melissa Lantz-Garnish and her husband JC Garnish, Danielle Riley and her husband Ken Riley, amd Jennifer Parker and her husband Michael Parker. He was a proud grandfather to Ashley Coffman, Mackenzie Gill, Hannah Parker, Lindsay Garnish and Chloe Garnish. He was a loving great-grandfather to Christopher, Alexander, Kellan, and Tag.
Family and friends are invited for visitation and services, which will be held on Friday, April 24th. Visitation from 10-11 AM at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Bowleys Quarters.
Bob's Life was one of honor, laughter, music, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
