Shirley Velma Debelius Covington Maddox

March 5, 1939 - May 16, 2022

On May 16, 2022, Shirley Velma Debelius Covington Maddox, passed away peacefully in bed at her home. Beloved wife of the late William Robert Covington Jr., and the late Robert Leroy Maddox; devoted mother of Theresa Covington and her husband Joe Beyerl, Linda Schaferbien and her husband Joe, and the late William Robert Covington III; cherished grandmother of Stephanie Correa and her husband David, and Joshua Schaferbien and his companion Kristin Hayes; loving great-grandmother of Kaileo Correa; dear sister of the late Charles Debelius and his wife Louise; loving daughter of the late Charles and Emma Debelius; dear friend of Bill Schoeberlein.

Friends may call at the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P. A. at 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex  at route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services on Thursday at 12:00 pm.  Interment at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.  In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: St. Matthew Lutheran Church, The Village at Augsburg, or Gilchrist Hospice.
