Mummy, you are not dead but just sleeping. We called her Mummy Seinya and our children called her Grandma. That is whom she was. She earned it, not just an alias. We met you at the latter part of your life while you were seeking the owner of your soul. You seemed to be tired of religion and wanted a personal and intimate relationship with your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am crystal certain that you met the owner of your soul before you met death. You took in every Biblical truth that comes your way, you search the scriptures and make meaningful contribution in our Bible Studies.
You took special interest in the young people, you want to see many of them accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Though you were frail and aged, yet, you compelled yourself to join in preparation for youth conferences and equally attended them. When programmes are conducted outside Freetown, we are so certain of your continual prayer for the team, until we come back. May the Almighty God reward your labour of love in His vineyard
Your love for God and His people is worthy of emulation, your teachability spirit and your firm holding on to Biblical truths is a great legacy that others should emulate. Your consistent request for prayers for your children and grandchildren ought to be copied by any worthwhile parent. Your sacrificial love for others Is amazing. You are a mother indeed!
Mummy, you are not dead but just sleeping. Saints don’t die but sleep.
Durosimi, Chinya and Nyambe, accept our condolence for the departure of mummy. May the Almighty God strengthen and comfort you and the whole family at this critical moment. May God use this occasion to draw each and every one of you to Himself. May God keep you and uphold you. May He glorify Himself throughout the funeral exercise. It is well. Mummy knows what it takes to get to heaven, she is not dead but only relocated to the world unseen.
Mummy Seinya. Good night. We will miss you!

When I heard the news of Aunty Seinya’s passing, I was reminded that like many of her generation she was a true trailblazer for women in Sierra Leone—in matters large and small. I will never forget my first sight of her in her red sports car! She was a graduate in agriculture and as the first female agriculturist she rose rapidly up the ladder in the Ministry of Agriculture; becoming the first woman to be appointed Chief Agricultural Officer. With her deep voice and great beauty, she always had a commanding presence.
Condolences to her children, grandchildren and close friends and relatives.
